People cannot work, unless they are housed, and physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy
Who I Am I am not new to the legislative and policy arena! ________
I have worked in the Office of Seth Howard, Delegate for Anne Arundel County, District 30B, for the past five years. Prior to that, I drafted bills and supported their passage into law in the drug policy arena, as well as drafting bond bills for local projects. I am well-versed in how the General Assembly works.
Additionally, I have served on the Governor’s Behavioral Health Advisory Committee’s –Planning Subcommittee, since its founding in 2015, and have participated on various healthcare-related task forces and workgroups over the past two decades. I have also been a staunch advocate for justice in housing, ensuring that organizations administering public housing programs are in compliance with federal regulations and state laws, and fighting for greater oversight of these organizations to reduce or eliminate fraud, waste, and mismanagement –including Homeless Continuums of Care (shelters, transitional housing, and other programs) and Public Housing Authorities (administering vouchers and other programs). I have a long career in teaching, and writing –skills that will be essential in my capacity as your representative in the Maryland General Assembly.
Constituent Services ________
Providing problem-solving conferencing to constituents is one of the primary charges of elected leadership positions! If you have been unable to resolve a problem or issue with a government agency, your elected representatives are responsible for assisting you until it has been resolved. Elected officials have access to state and local agencies and departments that may not be readily accessible to constituents, and they must, in good faith, be willing to assist in resolving these issues on behalf of their constituents. As your elected representative, my door is always open, and together we will walk a path toward problem resolution.
